It’s easy to get tired of twitter with all the noise.. the more followers I have, the more I’ve been missing out on the friends’ tweets, which often get buried under many thousands so quickly. Monetizing will definitely turn a lot of users away

sorry, but for me Twitter is just another trash-like website, just like myspace… totally useless, unless you have nothing better to do than reading other people’s tweets (just for fun)…crap

I am agree in many of your points. In my experience to work with Online Marketing is user friendness is important as well. As soon you have got the customer into your site is it important to guide them to e.g. your contact page. To do this do you need to spend a lots of time on statistic data. I think it is our responsible as Online Marketing advisor. Who cares about 1 million visitors if none of them are contacting you.

When this mass share idea was floated a while back the resounding response from SU beta testers and others was “no thanks”. All of the pitfalls mentioned here were evinced but they went ahead with it anyway. There seems to be regrettable “because we can” culture running through SU development. The really sad thing is that this and a lot of recent “enhancements” are actually detrimental to the StumbleUpon ethos.

I`m not a fan of Digg, so I can only hope that SU is NOT copying them. I`ve had a lot of great results with StumbleUpon, but my niche (work at home moms) is not one that does well with something like Digg.

I agree that this new version of SU is opening things up to spammers and that is never a good thing!
